Hi, I’m Zoey.
And this blog is where everyday places get a closer look.

I’m a high school student interested in studying architecture. I explore local buildings, historic landmarks, parks, monuments, and public spaces with one question in mind:
What makes this place work and what could make it better?
 

For each post, I visit the site, take photographs, and record the details that catch my attention. I look at its form, materials, layout, and relationship to its surroundings. I also observe how people use the space: Is the entrance easy to find? Is there somewhere comfortable to sit? Does the design invite people to stay or encourage them to move along?
 

Then I research its history and design intentions, sharing sources and separating what I can verify from my own observations. Using a consistent set of review criteria, I explain what I think succeeds, what falls short, and why.
 

I’m still learning, and these reviews document how my understanding of architecture develops with each visit. Every post ends with my final assessment: Zoey’s Verdict, plus a few questions for you to share your own perspective in the comments.
